As well as sourcing the finest tea for our blends, we also look at every aspect of life on the tea estate. Living and working conditions play a big part in the selecting of our suppliers, and we recognise that responsible trading does not just stop at compliance or certification. It is a journey of sustainable transformation and taking responsibilities for your own supply chain.
Typhoo has a responsibility to the communities on our tea estates and works hard to develop policies and build on improvements that have already been made.
We were one of the first tea companies to send our buyers to monitor various aspects of life on the tea estate.
We are proud to source teas from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms.
The Rainforest Alliance works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behaviour. We became an industry leader in initiating a structured ‘ethical tea programme’ as early as the 1980s.
The programme helped many producers gain the necessary knowledge and insight to develop their own ethical programmes too. And because we care about trading responsibly, we have been actively engaged with the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) since its inception.

Typhoo is committed to the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. Our Modern Slavery Statement supports these initiatives within our organisation and supply chains. We shall work closely with our supply chains in preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.
